The cobwebs might come again

Starting from this Saturday for 2 weeks, I will be extra busy.

So, kemungkinan besar untuk blog ni sepi lagi adalah sangat tinggi, hehehe.

Last time sepi sebab we all bercuti ke Malaysia.

Kali ni, orang Msia pulak yang nak datang bercuti ke sini.

Untuk menjadi host/tuan rumah yang mithali, kenalah I spend less time in front of the computer and spend more time layan tetamu lah kan.

Sekarang ni tengah busy kemas rumah yang masih tak kemas2, hahahaha….

I said to The Other Half, nasib baik rumah tak besar or else lagi pening lah I nak kemas.

And I also said to him, anything yang I tak boleh nak kemas, I akan sumbat masuk shed for 2 weeks!

Hahahahaha….

But I guess for now I’m just making sure that the pantry and the fridge and the freezer are all well stocked.

Like tonite, I made beef schnitzel and chips for dinner.

So, I made a big batch of schnitzel so I can freeze some to be used next week.

Miss 14’s question to me “Do I have to eat rice everyday when they are here?”

Hahahahaha…..

Dia tu kan memang lah, muka aje pure asian tapi tekak sikit pun tak menunjukkan dia Asian.

Another cuti2 Malaysia post

Sambung balik kisah cuti2 Msia ye.

Masa we all kat Msia a month ago, boleh katakan setiap petang akan hujan lebat giler2 nya.

Siap dengan ribut petir lagi tu.

For people i.e The Other Half and the girls yang membesar in countries yang jarang ada ribut petir ni, so bila ada ribut petir rasa macam excited sangat2 lah.

Setiap hujan and flash flood kalau boleh dia nak ambik gambar, hahahaha….

Masa ni we were on the way berjalan kaki nak cari taxi balik ke hotel, sempat lagi tu berenti kejap semata2 nak ambik gambar ni.

Semua jakun tengok flash flooding you!

Nasib baik ada walkway so tak lah basah kuyup we all menunggu mamat ni ambik gambar, hehehe…

Masa ni on the way nak pergi dinner….

Giler jam sebab hujan lebat.

We were stuck here for so long, about 30 minutes untuk bergerak a few hundred metres aje!

(well, so long for our standard lah yang traffic jam 5 minute pun dah gelisah, hahahaha).

And on the day we all decided to go jalan2 sekitar Pasar Seni, Chinatown and Masjid India, it was raining really heavily as well…

So, we all lepak2 lah kat food court kat Pasar Seni tu sementara tunggu hujan reda sikit.

Sambil minum petang and makan this shaved ice dessert.

I cant remember what they are called. We’ve got it here in Perth as well.

Lepas reda sikit, we all pun jalan2 lah sekitar Chinatown and Masjid Jamek area…

We did our touristy thing again, jalan kaki from Pasar Seni to Chinatown to the Indian area around there and then to the Malay section sekitar masjid Jamek pulak.

Masa ni hujan dah reda sikit but still drizzling a bit.

But Mat Saleh tourists kan, apa dia kisah .

Kat kedai jual barang kering ni pun nak ambik gambar, hahaha…

Sangat lah tourist nya kan!

Punyalah basah the jalan. Lencun selipar Ipanema I, hikhikhik….

But still ada time nak singgah beli barang sambil tawar menawar dengan abang La.

Very blurry tapi ok lah dari takde kan .

First time I sampai area ni.

Ni dekat dengan stesen LRT Masjid Jamek.

Ada banyak tudung yang dijual murah2 so apa lagi, I pun sambar lah berhelai2 untuk stock bertahun2, hahaha….

Bila dah beli tudung, kenalah beli brooches kan.

Murah! Murah!

What to do when you are vertically-challenged

In this household, I’m the one who normally does the shopping.

From grocery shopping to shopping for things that The Other Half and the girls need.

The Other Half will temankan I shop some weekends.

But I would do most of the grocery shopping during the week lepas hantar the girls to school.

Because it’s quiet and I can do it in peace, hehehe.

But ada jugak setback bila shopping sorang2 ni….

Especially when the shopper i.e. me sangatlah vertically-challenged a.k.a kemetot!

There’s this hazelnut flavouring that we always put in our morning coffee that can be found at Woolies and IGA only.

And guess where they put the hazelnut flavouring packets?

Right at the topmost shelf!!!!!!!!!

Kalau masa tu, the stock of hazelnut banyak lagi, agak senang jugak for me to get it sebab I only have to do a tippy-toe to get the packets.

I will normally get 3-5 packets sekali gus sebab slalunya it aje yang I dapat capai, hahaha.

But bila stock hazelnut tu tinggal sikit and kat belakang2 the shelf, memang sampai kucing bertanduk pun I tak kan dapat ambik the packets.

Tension weh!!!!!!!

Nak aje I buat aduan kat Woolies tu sebab discriminate orang2 pendek macam I ni!

So, what do I usually do?

Most times I will wait for a tall person to come along the aisle and ask them nicely to get the packets for me.

But kalau dah tunggu 1-2 minutes, still takde orang tinggi lalu that aisle, I’ll move somewhere else to get other things first…

Then, I’ll come back to the aisle and kalau malas nak menunggu, I’ll ask one of the Woolies workers to get them for me.

But kadang2 Woolies workers ni pun pendek2 gak so sama aje mcm I, hahahahaha….

Kenalah diaorang tak pasal2 cari steps to get the darn hazelnut packets!

Kalau dah Woolies workers pun semua busy aje, I’ll just go home empty handed aje.

Ada sekali tu, I dah siap terjengket2 nak get the blooming packets, The Other Half and the girls gelak2 aje tengok I dari jauh.

Hampeh betul kan!

I told The Other Half yang I wonder if all the tall guys think I’m trying to chat them up when I say, “Excuse me, can I ask a favour from you?”

Hahahahahaha .

So tadi I told The Other Half that it’s now his job to get the whole week supply of hazelnut flavouring from the Woolies near his workplace.

I will not be doing any more hazelnut shopping from now on!

Kesian kan kat orang kemetot macam I ni .

takpe lah, at least this orang kemetot ada other talents, heeeeee….

Like cooking dinner every nite, hahaha…

Tonite I made creamy fettucine with tuna and broccoli.

We all dah lama tak makan fish so malam ni I just cooked tuna in a can.

I love this kind of pasta. I can eat a whole big bowl of it just to myself .

It’s over for this year

Eurovision is finally over, until next year.

Denmark won Eurovision this year.

But my heart has been stolen by the Icelandic viking singer…..

(Even though I tak faham sepatah haram pun apa yang dia nyanyi tadi but he was still gorgeous).

Be still my beating heart .

I was telling The Other Half that Icelandic language must be one of the quite difficult languages to learn and master.

And it doesn’t use the ABC alphabets so lagi lah susah kan.

Berbelit2 lidah we all nak ikut dia nyanyi tadi, hahahahaha…..

Memang takkan boleh mahir in 1 year lah.

Kena duduk Iceland sejak lahir baru boleh mahir kot, heeeeee…..

But I sure nya tak tahan the cold.

Kat Perth ni pun kadang2 a bit too cold for me, lagi lah kat Iceland tu kan!

Mau beku I hari2, hahahaha….

But sebelum tengok Eurovision, perut kena diisi dulu.

The Other Half requested for nasi lemak.

So, that’s what I made for dinner tonite.

Nasi lemak dgn ayam bakar, ikan bilis goreng and sambal kosong.

I sorang aje yang makan telur goreng malam ni. Yang lain makan telur masin.

I made the sambal using Shidah’s recipe.

Sedap sangat tastenya sebab sambal ni takes a while to cook so memang dah meresap segala rasanya lah.

I guna half chili api kering and half cili besar kering untuk buat sambal ni but since dah masak lama, the pedas was just nice.

Eurovision is on again!

This weekend is the Eurovision weekend again!

Tu sebab update blog pun lambat and semalam pun malas nak update blog, hehehe.

We all satu family have been glued infront of the tv from 7.30 at night till quite late.

Memang dah jadi satu tradisi tiap2 tahun tengok Eurovision song contest ni.

Kali ni I buat salted caramel popcorns to eat while we were watching it. But tomorrow nite we are just having m&m’s aje.

Habis lah semua naik berat badan after 3 nights of Eurovision!

Satu besen popcorns I buat! Mau tak naik!

Hahahaha…..

For us it’s one of those activities that we enjoy doing together as a family like picnicking and cycling and it’s much better sebab everyone can snuggle up under the doonas in the comfort of our own home (sambil makan popcorns buatan sendiri, hahahahaha).

Miss 14 snuggling up under the doona and their own comfy recliner…..

And then siap terperasan yang rambut salah seorang singers tu macam rambut dia so kenalah ambik gambar sama2 untuk buktikan kan!

hahahahaha….

Sorang lelaki tulen while sorang lagi wanita tulen, hahahaha….

Kalau lah the laundry basket tu boleh berkata2, mau lah agaknya dia sumpah seranah I sbb tak lighten his load.

Sampai nak patah tulang belakang dia menampung berat kain baju yang tak ber iron lagi tu, hahahahaha……

Up close and personal with the birds

When we were in Msia, we went to a few places we’ve never been before.

We went to Bird Park (we’ve only been there once when Miss 14 was only 1+ years old.) so memang dah lama sgt2 lah.

We went to Aquaria which we’ve also been to once before about 4+ years ago kot.

We went to Pusat Sains Negara which we’ve never been to.

The girls really enjoyed spending time at these places.

Memang berbaloi lah pergi.

At least diaorang tau yang kat KL tu bukan setakat ada Petrosains aje and bukan setakat ada shopping malls aje, hahahahaha….

So, layan lah ye a few photos I took at these places.

And guess what?

We were the typical Mat Saleh tourists that day.

We walked all the way from our hotel to the Bird Park and walked back!

Memang we did a lot of walking that day!

Nearly nak sesat but nasib baik tak sesat.

The girls were really good walaupun kena jalan jauh, tak komplen penat langsung.

They were so happy kat Bird Park tu sebab dapat bagi makan ikan, dapat bagi makan burung, dapat bergambar dgn burung.

Kalau dah namanya pergi taman burung, kenalah ambik gambar dgn burung kan.

Dua2 perasan hensem tu yang sampai nak berlaga kepala .

I cant remember the name of this birds but they are really pretty with their shocking orange colour.

Burung ni pun cantik with the gorgeous blue tapi sangat lah evil rupanya with the red eyes kan.

Kat Msia pun ada rainbow lorikeet ni. Cantik tapi pencuri buah anggur! hahahaha.

Dah puas bagi makan kat burung, bagi makan kat ikan pulak.

Muka orang yang dah kepenatan sangat2 berjalan kaki tak berhenti, hehehe….

Balik dari Bird Park tu, we all lepak tepi pool sampai suntanned habis .
